A NUMBER of people have taken home awards at the 23/24 Irish Hotels Federation ceremony.
Fifteen nominees from hotels and guesthouses across Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary were recognised and celebrated for outstanding contributions to their workplace this year.
Among those recognised across the Midwest was Hannah Pike, receptionist at the Shannon Springs Hotel, who was announced as the 23/24 Irish Hotels Federation Shannon Branch ‘Employee of the Year’.
Congratulating Hannah on the award, IHF Shannon Branch Chair, Darren Harding said the judges highlighted her professionalism, maturity and adaptability when selecting her as the winner.
Hannah started her hospitality career in the Shannon Springs Hotel’s accommodation department in 2021 before moving to the restaurant and bar in the summer of 2022, and then to her current role in reception in early 2023.
In each role, Hannah quickly adapted and excelled, increasing her knowledge of the hotel’s various operations and departments. Next September, Hannah plans to apply to the Shannon College of Hotel Management.
The members of the IHF Shannon Branch now wish Hannah the very best of luck as she goes on to represent them at the upcoming National IHF Employee of the Year Awards which will be held during the IHF's Annual Conference in February 2024.
At the special award lunch, held in the Clayton Hotel Limerick, IHF President, Denyse Campbell spoke about the importance of recognising excellence, and "shaping brighter futures" for people in the sector by supporting future leaders and keeping teams motivated with opportunities for career progression and development.
