'A splash of colour and joy': Limerick artist showcases works in new exhibition

The collection will bring ‘a splash of colour and joy’ to the shopping centre
LIMERICK artist Jacinta Glasgow will be showcasing her works in a new exhibition this autumn.
The Parkway Shopping Centre will be hosting the exhibition ‘Expressions: Life in Colour’.
This latest artwork is a collection of “vibrant, inspiring works” in acrylic and oil, depicting “therapeutic images inspired by the natural world and spirituality”.
The collection will bring “a splash of colour and joy” to the shopping centre, with shoppers encouraged to pause and “appreciate the natural world and enjoy the healing benefit of these stunning paintings”.
The exhibition will run until Sunday, October 4, and is open Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm, with free admission.
Jacinta has 40 years healthcare and complementary therapy experience in Reflexology and energy healing. She combines “a passion for caring and creativity in her painting work” at her holistic healing centre, A Gift of Healing, in Cloughjordan, Tipperary.
She explained: “My paintings are inspired by a love of the natural world, travel and spiritual journeys. I am largely self-taught and have painted with groups in Cork, Kerry, Tipperary, London and Spain. I paint in oil, acrylic, pastel and watercolour in a variety of subjects.”
Jacinta trained in Jungian Psychology and art therapy and uses her work “to explore the subconscious mind and journey into spiritual dimensions through colour, and emotions in a meditative style invoking ease, flow, love and peace”.
She added: “I enjoy the freedom this approach brings to my work with a sense of fascination and discovery as the image materialises into form. My painting expresses feelings and emotions from the depths of my heart and soul, exploring the infinite inner sacred space beyond the limitations in thoughts or beliefs of what is possible. As a nurse and holistic therapist my paintings are infused with healing to aid balance, peace and harmony.”
Jacinta has exhibited nationally and internationally and her healing artwork is displayed in hospitals, retail outlets and private collections.
The exhibition will be launched on Saturday, September 19 by Liam Gleeson, centre manager.
