LIMERICK GAA footballer Amy Hanrahan will represent the county in the 2023 Blue Jean Country Queen Festival this June bank holiday weekend

Amy, aged 22, from Askeaton is a member of Shannonside Macra na Feirme. The secondary school teacher likes to play football, soccer and go horse riding in her spare time.

The Gerald Griffins Ladies GAA Club star has represented the Limerick senior ladies' football team since 2019 and captained her county in a Munster U21 final against Kerry.

Amy will be one of 23 young women vying to be crowned the 2023 Blue Jean Country Queen this weekend in County Meath.

Entries this year come from Macra clubs all over the country as well Queens from Canada and Northern Ireland. A packed weekend awaits Amy and her supporters from Shannonside Macra in Athboy.

Following Athlacca’s Elaine Houlihan election as the new Macra president could Limerick do the double and have Askeaton’s Amy as the 2023 Blue Jean Country Queen?
