Aslan cancel shows including Limerick gig due to Christy Dignam's declining health

UIVERSITY Concert Hall Limerick have announced the cancellation of the upcoming Aslan gig at the venue.
UCH confirmed that the show will no longer be going ahead due to lead singer's Christy Dignam's declining health.
The gig was originally supposed to take place on Saturday, June 3 however, it is now been cancelled along with the rest of the band's upcoming shows.
Christy was admitted to Beaumont Hospital last July and spent the next six months in the care of the haematology and cardiac care team.
The singer returned home in December where he is being cared for by family, with the support of a palliative care team.
In a statement, the musician's family as well as his bandmates asked for privacy.
UCH also released a statement confirming that ticket holders would receive full refunds as soon as possible.
"We understand that this will be deeply disappointing for many customers and loyal fans who were looking forward to Aslan’s performance.
"We join with everyone in sending our best wishes to the Dignam family and share their wishes in asking everyone to keep Christy in their thoughts and prayers and to respect their privacy at this time.
"Full refunds will be made to ticket holders as soon as possible. Please note that this may take a number of days to complete. We ask that you refrain from calling the Box Office directly at this time as we work through this busy period."
