Black ice warning after rain overnight in Limerick

LIMERICK City and County Council has issued a black ice warning following rain overnight.
The local authority says there are "extensive areas" of black ice locally, and have urged "extreme care" to motorists and pedestrians travelling.
Road crews are treating priority routes, the council said.
A status yellow weather warning remains in place until midday today, with temperatures set to rise across the next day to a balmy 12 degrees, according to the forecast from Met Eireann.
Due to the weather conditions, and the slippery surfaces, the weekly Limerick park-run which takes place at University of Limerick was cancelled today.
The organisers said it is unsafe for volunteers to check the course.
