PASSIONATE Limerick buskers are being encouraged hit the right note when the City Stages roadshow arrives in the city this weekend.

Telecommunications firm, Three is seeking the county’s most talented buskers to sign-up to be a part of its national tour later this year.

This Saturday, January 14, marks the beginning of the music tour, starting at Three’s Cruises Street store in Limerick city centre.

The custom built stages will each host a line-up of some of Ireland’s most talented up and coming musicians from 12-3pm including Uisce Jones, Reylta, Dáwna, Smith OJ and Abe Soare.

Applications to perform are now open at Three’s website.

The initiative, which was launched at the end of last year, supports the next generation of musicians in progressing their careers by offering them the opportunity to perform on the biggest stages in the country.

According to Three, City Stages 2023 will tour Ireland throughout the year, providing a platform for buskers and emerging musicians to showcase to new audiences and promote their music from the smallest stages to the 3Arena and 3Olympia.

Last November, the launch of City Stages saw four rising musicians - Korey Power, Mel Maryns, Conor Dawson and Excel - entertain crowds outside of Three’s Cruises Street shop in the city centre.

This was then followed by a surprise acoustic performance from popular band Wild Youth.

The City Stages initiative is supported by Sony Music Ireland and AIM Ireland as well as City Stages ambassador and RTÉ 2FM broadcaster Tracy Clifford.
