THE DOCK road has reopened to traffic following a single vehicle traffic collision this Wednesday morning.

The collision took place outside the Riverside Park close to the junction with the N18.

According to Limerick Fire and Rescue, the alarm was raised at 11:38am and gardaí soon closed the road.

Two units of fire brigade attended the scene and the road reopened around an hour later.

It's understood that the driver-side door of the vehicle could not be opened without the aid of the fire service.

The occupant of the vehicle did not sustain any serious injuries but was taken to hospital as a precaution.
