A CHARITY vintage car run is to take place this weekend in a Limerick village.

It’s the second time Knockaderry locals have put on a fundraiser, which will see enthusiasts with classic and vintage vehicles take part in a route kicking off at 1pm on Sunday, September 10.

All proceeds from the day will go to the city-based Children’s Grief Centre, which supports youngsters experiencing loss, and Ballybunion Cliff and Sea Rescue.

The trail will pass through the villages of Castlemahon, Kilmeedy, Castletown and Ballingarry in a show of vehicles from yesteryear.

One of the features of the day will see a 1906 Steam powered traction engine on display.

There is also a host of entertainment planned for the village on Sunday afternoon with a children’s disco, puppet and magic shows.

It costs €20 per vehicle to enter the extravaganza.

Last year’s vintage day saw more than €16,500 raised for Milford Care Centre.

The organising committee have issued an appeal to any person, group, business or community group to make a financial contribution of any amount to the day.

Donations can also be made through a special ‘idonate’ page on the internet - by searching ‘KnockaderryCharityVintageRun’

Alternatively, you can support the event by phoning Noel at 083-8003900 or Mary-Angela on 086-8846478.

Or just turn up on the day itself to show your support!
