Firefighters rescue stricken man with hydraulic platform after alarm was raised

PRISON food could be on the menu for a burglar who got stuck while breaking into a takeaway restaurant in Dooradoyle, Limerick Live has learned.

It is understood the perpetrator attempted to gain entry to the premises some time after midnight this Wednesday morning. However, it is thought that he got stuck in an air vent and spent around 13 hours stewing and venting.

The alarm was raised around 1pm this Wednesday afternoon. Limerick Fire and Rescue Service and gardai responded with firefighters having to use a hydraulic platform to remove the man from the vent.

Paramedics with the National Ambulance Service also attended.

It is understood the man was then arrested by gardai.

Garrdai have been contacted for comment.
