Coffee shop staff on ‘Klaud9’ after landing Limerick City Tidy Towns prize

City centre cafe wins bi-monthly award from volunteer group
COFFEE shop staff are on ‘Klaud9’ after winning a Limerick City Tidy Towns award.
Klaud9 coffee, based at Thomas Street in the city centre, has won the bi-monthly Limerick City Tidy Towns award for March and April.
Maura O’Neill of the volunteers’ group said: “We have long admired this charming little coffee shop on Thomas Street, with its gorgeous hand-painted external signage and outdoor seating, and its sustainable use of upcycled previously loved furniture and crockery inside.”
She added the cafe, which opened in 2022, would have won an award sooner, were it not so close to other businesses which have secured prizes in Thomas Street.
“So we are delighted to acknowledge them now,” she added.
Klaud9 is owned by Klaudia Chciuk and Ysabel Nelson.
Since its opening, it has attracted a loyal customer base.
The café is pet-friendly.
Klaud9 Coffee becomes the second bi-monthly Limerick City Tidy Towns winner for 2026, following Realta’s win for January and February.
If you wish to nominate a business in the city for an award or indeed to volunteer with Limerick City Tidy Towns, they meet every Sunday morning at 11am at the corner of Thomas Street and O’Connell Street.
