Criminals 'ransack' Limerick home of young mum as she does school run
CRIMINALS 'ransacked' the home of a young mother in Limerick as she did the school run.
The incident happened on Wednesday, August 31 when the young woman left her home in Patrickswell at 9:30am.
She returned at 11am and in that time criminals entered her home by forcing a rear window.
They completely ransacked the house and left with a small amount of cash.
Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer at Henry Street garda station said: "Criminals are opportunists and are always on the lookout for a chance to steal anything of value.
"They do not want to get caught and gardai know that a house alarm is a very valuable deterrent.
"Always set your alarm and ensure your windows and doors are secure before you leave your home, even if it is only for a short time. If you do not have an alarm, get a quote from a reputable alarm company and get one fitted as soon as possible".
