LIMERICK Fire and Rescue Service responded to a number of calls across Limerick city and county on Halloween night.
Twenty calls in total were received overall across the city and county, in what was a "relatively quiet" Halloween night for the fire service.
Fourteen of those calls were deemed to be "Halloween related".
In response to a query from Limerick Live, the fire and rescue service confirmed that two calls were received in the city, two in Newcastle West, three in Cappamore, and one in Rathkeale, with more interspersed throughout Limerick.
Most of the calls received were related to either fireworks or outdoor fires and bonfires.
This year saw a slight decrease in the number of calls received by fire services in Limerick on Halloween compared to last year's figures, with almost 25 calls made during Halloween night in 2023.
A spokesperson for Limerick City and County Council said: "Last night Limerick City and County Council Fire Service had 20 calls in total across the county. Fourteen of those calls were “Halloween” related. Thankfully it was a relatively quiet night for Halloween in Limerick with the call out being spread across the county. Limerick City and County Council Fire Service would like to thank the members of the public for their efforts in ensuring a safe Halloween for all."
