Free blood pressure and pulse tests in Limerick GAA club

‘EVERYONE is welcome’ to attend the free blood pressure and pulse checks at one Limerick venue this Tuesday, September 12.
The Irish Heart Foundation’s Mobile Health Unit is coming to the Women's shed Limerick from 1.30pm to 5pm, with no booking required. The mobile health unit will be available on the grounds of Mungret/St Paul's GAA Club.
There are two private consultation rooms with a nurse available in each room to provide heart health information and do free blood pressure and pulse checks. The one-to-one advice offered by the nurse is a part of this check.
Each person will also receive a personal record card with their results and in the event of any abnormal results is advised to follow up with their GP.
High blood pressure, which is a major cause of stroke and heart attack, is one of the most prevalent risk factors in the population and one which once identified is very manageable, thereby reducing risk.
A blood pressure check is a simple quick and non-invasive test that could prove lifesaving. Any individual having a blood pressure check must be over 18.
