Free support booklet launched for Limerick parents

PARENTING can be tough at the best of times, but free resources have now become available to Limerick parents following the launch of an advice booklet in association with national child and family agency, Tusla.
In conjunction with state owned Tusla and the Parenting Limerick initiative, The 20 Second Hug and More: Quick Reads for Parents was launched, which is a collection of articles compiled into one place for parents to avail of for free.
The collection will be distributed in media publications throughout Munster and focuses on themes of communication and family wellbeing, as well as tips for parental self care.
The Tusla Parenting Support Champions in Limerick, who officially launched the booklet, is part of a national project that brings together practitioners who are already involved with parenting and family support to enable the sharing of resources, support and advice within the community.
Niamh Dalton, Parenting Support Champion and Co-ordinator in ABC Start Right Limerick said: “It’s great to get an opportunity to work together to provide a resource like this for parents – parenting is so hard sometimes”.
“Hopefully, they will get ideas for some fun activities to do with their children and maybe some thoughts to consider for making time for themselves too!”
Parenting Limerick is a network of organisations that provide parenting and family support in Limerick and is part of the Limerick Children and Young People’s Services Committee (CYPSC).
Limerick CYPSC is part of a wider, national initiative that brings together senior level representatives of agencies to work together and improve the coordination of services available to parents and children.
