Garda goes extra mile for motorist in trouble in Limerick

Limerick-based garda goes beyond the call of duty
A LIMERICK garda on mobile patrol in the city centre also got his hands dirty.
He proved pressure is for tyres as he helped a female motorist who had a flat tyre.

A post on the An Garda Siochana social media accounts on Wednesday says that “not every stop ends with a ticket”.
“While on high visibility beat patrol this evening, Garda Finnegan noticed a car driving on O’Connell Street on a flat tyre.
“A quick stop, a tyre change, and the driver was safely back on her way,” reads the post which concludes with, “Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a big difference #KeepingPeopleSafe”.
The post has received hundreds of likes and numerous comments including from the woman that Garda Finnegan assisted.
She wrote: “A huge thank you to garda officers Lucy, Aaron, and their two colleagues for rescuing me yesterday in Limerick, and making sure I got home safely. What a blessing!”
"It's a job worth doing" is the official recruitment slogan used by An Garda Síochána to promote careers in Irish policing and Garda Finnegan and fellow officers did the job of changing her tyre right.
