Halloween in Limerick to feature events throughout the mid-term break
Limerick Council hopes the programme will offer residents "plenty of wicked things to do"
LIMERICK City and County Council (LCCC) has announced its Halloween in Limerick campaign, with a variety of activities for families across the city and county.
The programme’s events will take place throughout the mid-term break.
A spokesperson for LCCC said: “Whether you are looking to scare your little goblins silly or just enjoy some mild-mannered mayhem, Limerick.ie/Halloween is your ghoulish guide to fun”.
“From pumpkin picking to monster makeovers and kooky crafts, there are plenty of wicked things to do.”
Among the “fiendishly fun” family events taking place are the annual Curraghchase Pumpkin Patch, the Castleconnell Fright Fest with its scary trail ending at a very spooky Shannon House, and Limerick’s Halloween Festival, Samhain, featuring Lumen Street Theatre's Fire and Shadows Parade.
Dinosaur Day at the Crescent Shopping Centre offers children the chance to meet with all their favourite dinosaurs, from the giant T-Rex to the Velociraptor, while Bats in The City will teach visitors all about the “secrets and stories” of Limerick’s nocturnal friends on this “captivating” bat walk.
At Glinfest, guests will get the opportunity to carve pumpkins at the pumpkin patch before heading on a spooky walk! The event will also include face painting, scary storytelling and lots more!
There are also Halloween camps available during midterm to suit all ages of “little witches and werewolves”.
Eileen Coleman, head of tourism at Limerick City and County Council commented: “Limerick is bound to bewitch with groups and communities planning enchanting events right across the city and county this Halloween. Whether you are after some fangtastic family fun or ghoulish goings on for grown-ups – there is something for all to enjoy”.
