Four MIC Alumni Awards were presented to MIC graduates who have excelled in their chosen fields, including Bruff’s Tommy Bulfin, a commissioning editor with the BBC who has previously worked on the BBC’s Peaky Blinders and Normal People.

Former Irish Rugby Captain, Ciara Griffin; RTÉ's Political Correspondent, Micheál Lehane; and Director of People Operations at Google Ireland, Helen Tynan were also awarded at the event.

Also celebrated on the night were five doctoral students who were collectively awarded almost €250,000 by the Irish Research Council's Government of Ireland Postgraduate and Postdoctoral Awards.

Limerick's Keith Ó'Riain, as well as Amélie Gaillat, Aoife Munroe, Caitlin Nolan and Margaret O'Brien received the funding to support their PhD research.
