THE streets of Limerick were filled with colour and noise at the weekend for a great cause.
The east Limerick branch of the Irish Red Cross hosted the special fundraising event which saw vehicles brighten up the night sky with Christmas lights and decorations and fill the air with beeping horns.
Light Up Limerick 2022 was organised by the group to raise funds for the branch's new ambulance base.
The run featured a number of vehicles decked out in their festive gear with tractors, trucks, cars and much more taking part.
There was also a Blue Lights Appreciation section where crews from emergency services spread some joy.
The first Limerick branch of the Irish Red Cross was founded in 1940 and they now have over 200 members volunteering.
The organisation offers a range of services including first aid and ambulance cover at events, first aid training, health and social care support and a Red Cross Youth section.
The Light Up Limerick run made its way through the city starting at Ballinacurra Road and finishing on Mulgrave Street.
