AS PART of National Community Engagement Week, members of An Garda Síochana are holding ‘pop-up’ events at marts and in communities across Limerick to promote farm safety.
They had a property marking device on site, at Kilmallock Mart on Monday, to add serial codes to belongings of farmers such as trailers, tools, quad bikes and anything that is of value
“We're trying to encourage the Cairde app, many rural communities will be involved in text alert schemes and Muintir na Tíre runs the Cairde app and it can create a property log on your app and it’s really helpful. Take pictures of it, take pictures of serial numbers and it's stored on your app,” Inspector Thompson told the Limerick Leader.
