STUDENTS across Limerick city and county are celebrating after receiving their Junior Cert results on Wednesday.
The results have been released two weeks later than usual with the delay being blamed on a shortage of examiners and the prioritisation of marking the Leaving Cert.
The State Examinations Commission issued the results to schools and students were able to access them online from 4pm.
The 2022 exams were the first to be held fully in person after a two year absence due to the pandemic.
Over 68,400 candidates took part in the exams, a 5% increase on the amount of participants in 2019.
Students took exams in 21 different subjects in schools across the country.
Saoirse Hanley from Bruff was one of the many pupils who received their results today and said she was "delighted".
Her mother Sinead said the Scoil Pól Kilfinane pupil did "really well" and she was "thrilled" with how she had gotten on.
