POETRY Month in Limerick has kicked off in style at the White House bar in the city centre.
The Glentworth Street pub played host to the First Wednesday poetry reading series, setting the stage for a month full of literary delights.
The special guest poet was Sandy Yannone, who came from the USA.
The event witnessed a huge turnout for the open-mic session, with poets stepping up to share their creations.
There will be more than 15 events and 26 performers through the month as part of the annual poetry festival.
Streets and venues across the city will play host to events.
Founded by Limerick Writers Centre in 2013, Poetry Month in Limerick is marking its 11th birthday.
