In Pictures: Limerick theatre company gets stage ready for big performance

MEMBERS of the Canavour Players will be hoping to figuratively break a leg as their production of Brush with a Body by Maurice McLoughlin gets underway.

The production will see a number of local talent from the Ballinvreena area grace the stage of the Ballinvreena Community Hall for the production.

“We’ve been rehearsing since the end of October and we are gearing up for showtime by making some final preparations,” Denise Fletcher said.

Ms Fletcher plays the role of Cynthia in the production.

“It’s a three-act play. It centres around three siblings, two sisters and a brother and they’re preparing to get ready for their mother coming home. They enlist the help of a chimney sweep so it all kicks off from there then,” Ms Fletcher said.

“The producer is Willie Carr. We’ve had a lot of local help, helping us with the set building and behind the scenes, so the set is ready to go now and we will have our final preparations tomorrow and the next few days,” she added.

Tickets for the play are on sale now and can be purchased by calling 0892051830. The number can be called between 5pm and 9pm from Wednesdays to Sundays while the production is ongoing.

The play will run for eight nights starting on Thursday, February 1 to Sunday, February 4 and then continuing from Thursday, February 8 to Sunday, February 11.

There will be complimentary tea and coffee served in Davey’s Cottage across the road following the production. Tickets cost €10 for adults and €5 for children.
