The Luas going to Heuston Station came to an abrupt halt

A number of fans fell backwards on a Luas from Connolly to Heuston stations

A NUMBER of Limerick fans fell backwards while travelling on a Luas after the All-Ireland final, Limerick Live has learned.

One person on board said they had got on the Luas from Connolly station to go to Heuston to get their train home.

“I don’t know what happened but there must have been some kind of an incident for the Luas to brake suddenly like that,” they told Limerick Live.

“A number of people who were standing, fell backwards. People got a shock but thankfully everybody was fine and I don’t think anybody was injured. Spirts were obviously very high after the match,” they said.

Passengers were first advised that the Luas would move again in a few minutes but then they were informed that it had to go back to Connolly.

“Anyone who wanted to get out had to do so by a top carriage so we had to walk a few minutes to Heuston. We made the train by thet skin of our teeth!” they concluded.
