Limerick artists announced for Night and Day Festival

LIMERICK'S Emma Langford and WhenYoung will be among the artists to play at this summer's Night and Day festival
The two day event takes place at Lough Key Forest, Boyle, County Roscommon on June 24 and June 25.
Folk singer Emma, who only recently performed on The Late Late Show, will take to the stage on the Saturday night.
She recently dropped her latest single, Abigail (Tomhas Ghobnatan), which is inspired by the stories of Gobnait who is an Irish saint worshipped mainly in Ballyvourney, Muskerry, County Cork.
The Birdsong singer is exploring various women in Irish folklore and history and writing songs about them as part of an ongoing project with local historians and the University of Limerick.
Meanwhile, WhenYoung who also hail from the Treaty County, are made up of Aoife Power and Andrew Flood, and they perform on the Saturday as well.
The London-based punk/rock duo made waves in 2017 after signing with Virgin EMI and UMP and went on tour supporting the likes of Nick Cave, The Pogues, Blossoms, Garbage, The Libertines, Declan McKenna, Inhaler and The Vaccines.
In 2019, they released their debut album which featured the hit, Given Up, but in recent years, changed management, brought out new music and a new sound.
Their forthcoming album, ‘Paragon Songs’ is due for release on April 7, and ‘Shame Train’ is their latest single.
