Limerick Enterprise Development Partnership has announced the projects which will benefit from its Impact Fund

TWELVE local charities, groups and organisations have received a much-needed grant from Limerick Enterprise Development Partnership (LEDP).

LEDP, a public-private partnership charity which exists to support enterprising organisations, has announced the recipients of its annual Impact Fund.

Its staff have picked 12 worthy parties from across the city.

Among the projects selected are Doras, which supports the local migrant community, the Bedford Row Family Project, and Corpus Christi National School in Moyross, which is running a project entitled The sky is the Limit.

This provides teenage and adult counselling services as well as play, music, and creative arts therapy.

Saoirse Addiction Treatment Centre has received a grant, as has the Southill afterschool club, for its work to deliver homework supports.

Dóchas Mid-West autism support has received money to help with the creation of a new social enterprise to create employment for those with autism.

The chief executive of LEDP Niall O’Callaghan said: “As an organisation leading the agenda for social advancement in Limerick, LEDP is proud to make a significant impact across Limerick working with our partners. From furthering the educational opportunities for students to improving the quality of life for people facing challenges in our community, we're focused on empowering people to be the change they want to see in their community.”

Founded in 1999, LEDP is marking its 25th anniversary this year.
