Limerick driver fined for speeding and having no license

A Newcastle West man was fined €600 for motoring offences at the first court of the year in County Limerick.
Patrick McCarthy, aged 26, of Sharwood Estate, Newcastle West was before the local court for speeding on the motorway and having no driving licence.
Garda Sean Joseph Sheehy gave evidence of detecting Mr McCarthy driving at 141kmph in a 120km zone on the M20 at Cloghacloka, Limerick on June 28, 2023.
Judge Carol Anne Coolican fined Mr McCarthy, who was not present in the court, €300 for exceeding the motorway speed limit and €300 for having no driving licence.
