SEVERAL drivers have been arrested and a number of vehicles were seized across Limerick city and county as gardai carried out a bank holiday policing operation.

On Monday evening, a spokesperson for An Garda Siochana in the county confirmed that this weekend, arrests were made for suspected drug driving in Dromkeen and Abbeyfeale, as well as in Roxboro and on the Hyde Road in Limerick City.

Two further arrests were also made during the bank holiday policing operation due to suspected intoxicated driving.

Authorities confirmed on social media that one driver failed a roadside breath test in the Ballyneety area while a second tested positive for cocaine in Doon, leading to an arrest by Bruff gardai.
