Gardai advise people to keep cash and valuables in a safe place

TWO people in Limerick, in two separate incidents, had money taken stolen from them.

A thirty-year-old man brought what gardaí say was a "considerable amount of cash" with him to work on Childers Road.

He put the money into a rucksack in a shed and later that day returned to find that more than half of the money was gone.

"That cash should have been kept on his person or locked away in a secure place," said Sergeant Ber Leetch, crime prevention officer.

Sgt Leech added: "Criminals are everywhere and always looking for a chance to steal from us.

"Do not give them the chance, keep your cash, bankcards and phone on your person at all times."
