Limerick Man Wins Donegal 555 Ultra Endurance Cycle Race

Congratulation the West Limericks Shane Courtney, the 2022 winner of the Donegal 555 Ultra Endurance Cycle Race.

The Donegal 555 is one of Europe’s hardest races over some of the most scenic & challenging coastal roads in the world & like its name is 555km long, around the coast & over the mountains of Donegal.

Shane competed in the unsupported category (Only 5 people have ever finished this category) & after a 24-hour seasaw battle with South African Lloyd Berry, eventually won by 29 minutes making his winning move on Glengesh Pass with 150km to go. In a great week for Tralee Manor West bc, Shane's team mate Jerry Mc Carthy won the supported 555 category.
