Limerick Philharmonic Orchestra in concert this weekend

THE LIMERICK Philmarmonic Orchestra is to take to the stage again, with a performance at St Mary's Cathedral in the city this weekend.
The group will perform Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony on Sunday evening at 7pm, and entry is free.
The orchestra is comprised of professional players and high level amateurs who wish to perform the master works of the great composers.
Sinead Hayes, who is becoming one of Ireland's leading interpreters of contemporary music and opera will conduct the band at the event.
She comes with great credentials: for she is conductor of the Royal Irish Academy of Music Symphony Orchestra and principal conductor of Galway’s professional orchestra Luminosa.
In the past, Sinead has conducted the Irish chamber orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Irish National Opera, Opera Collective Ireland and Crash ensemble.
The orchestra meanwhile will be led by Anna Jane Ryan.
There will be a retiring collection in aid of the upkeep costs of St Mary’s Cathedral.
The following day, another free concert will take place at the venue, with Clements High School Choir taking in Limerick as part of an Irish tour.
This begins at 1.15pm on Monday, March 13.
This visiting choir from Texas, USA will perform sacred, traditional and popular songs for by Hagenberg, Arcadelt, Hunter, Emerson and many more.
Once again, there will be a retiring collection.
All are welcome at both events.
