SCOIL Pól's first every Christmas truck, tractor and vintage run lit up the countryside around Kilfinane. Participants put their foot on the pedals as onlookers came out in their droves to see the festive spectacle. It was organised as part of the fundraising drive for the planned multi-purpose Arena. The arena will not only improve the facilities within the school, thus enabling more than one PE class to be held simultaneously, but will also provide space for school musicals, drama and cultural events. It will also be available to community clubs and associations outside of school times for events and training purposes. Mike O'Hara, principal of Scoil Pól, said the fun, colour, effort and buzz was second to none! "A huge thank you to our wonderful students, staff and parents who made the evening the success it was. Thank you to all the participants for making such an effort with your vehicles and for travelling to Scoil Pól and to you all for coming out to greet us and waving at us along the route," said Mr O'Hara. Deputy Richard O'Donoghue led the way as the assortment of vehicles went on a tour of south east Limerick. Fogarty's Life Pharmacy, Woodlands House Hotel, Clancy's Bar, Deebert House Hotel, Harry Murphy were thanked for donating raffle prizes and vouchers. Mollys Restaurant and Sheehy's Centra ensured nobody went on their journey home hungry. Click 'Next' to see more photographs from Ita Westplaceholder image
