Limerick singer hits the right note with debut single

FROM covers to composition, Limerick singer Caroline Clancy, has gone from starring in musicals to producing catchy singles, and can't wait to make a name for herself in the music scene.
A native of Corbally, Caroline has always aspired to playing on the big stage while singing her heart out to adoring fans.
As cliché as she believes it may sound, Caroline, admits that she has been singing since she “came out of the womb.”
After going to see a production of Annie with her aunt at the age of seven, the singer thinks back to that time and realises that it was then she “fell in love with the stage and the production,” and so led her to joining her first stage school as a way to reach her goals.
Now 23, and having just released her debut single only weeks ago, it seems Caroline, who musically goes just by her first name, is well on her way to realising her dream.
Four Chambers was released on March 18, and is the name given to Caroline's first track.
With positive feedback coming from all over the world, the production process she admits, “can be quite tedious at times,” agreeing that “there's a lot to it.”
Having privately recorded a few songs by herself with a basic editing software as a way to get the musical ball rolling, Caroline candidly says that she wasn't so sure of them. “The first few were sh*t,” she laughs, “but I kept at it and reached out to a studio in Limerick.”
Shane Wixted, who owns recording studio Launchpad LK in the city centre helped direct Caroline to achieve her debut.
From direction, to tricks of the trade, Shane was helpful to this newbie in a myriad of ways. Caroline tells the story of how she “came to him with the beat and with the lyrics,” but found his guidance invaluable, especially as a beginner.
“He has your best interests at heart,” she smiled, “because you're going into a tough industry, and I knew I could trust him.”
Regarding Four Chambers, Caroline admits that she loved it straight away. “I loved the lyrics, I loved the beat, it was my first real experience of producing a song in a studio.”
After what she agrees is a “long enough process,” Caroline beams over the feedback she has received after releasing the song. “People love it,” she smiles.
Determined to commit her energy to her craft, Caroline is hungry to keep her feet in the industry. “People keep asking me if I'm happy with how the song is doing, and I am, but I can't wait for all of the other songs I'm going to release. As soon as I had the song out I was like, 'what's next?'”.
Currently working an office job, she dreams soon of taking her music career to a professional and full-time capacity. “One day, I hope soon, that I can genuinely make money from this,” she said.
Now back in the studio and making more music, Caroline hopes to veer away from pop, and add some diversity to her repertoire. “I love 80s tracks, and music my parents would have listened to,” she adds.
As for the future, Caroline reveals that she has another song out in a few short weeks, slower and more of a ballad, and hopes to start gigging soon.
“That's something that scares me a bit as I haven't really gigged,” she admits, but I love performing.”
As she looks to release her first EP next year, Caroline Clancy is one to watch.
