Limerick teens have bags stolen while enjoying sunshine

A GROUP of young people had their belongings stolen while enjoying themselves in the sun in Limerick.

A group of friends aged between late teens and early twenties were practicing their sport and left their bags on the ground nearby.

They did not realise that they were moving further and further away from their bags and when they went to collect them, all three bags were gone. Items to a total value of €750 euro were stolen.

Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer Henry Street Garda Station said: "Protect your property, keep it close and keep an eye on it but keep your jewellery, cash, bank cards and phone on your person.

"If you can, leave these items in the safety of your home, criminals are always on the lookout."
