NATIONAL OUTLOOK
Rather unsettled, and windy at first, with spells of rain and showers.
A blustery night tonight with clear spells and scattered showers with a chance of hail. The showers will be most frequent in the northwest, merging to longer spells of rain later. Lowest temperatures of between three and six degrees in fresh to strong and gusty southwest winds.
Sunny spells at first tomorrow with showers, mainly in the northwest, clearing northwards gradually. Outbreaks of rain will develop in the southwest in the morning, extending gradually over much of the country through the day. Highest temperatures of seven to 10 degrees. Fresh and gusty southwesterly winds will ease through the morning.
Largely cloudy with outbreaks of rain tomorrow night, heavy at times with possible localised flooding. Lowest temperatures of 2 to 6 degrees generally, milder in the south and southwest. Some mist and fog patches will develop.
Outbreaks of rain will clear eastwards through Thursday morning, becoming largely dry with a few outbreaks of light rain and drizzle. Highest temperatures of seven to 10 degrees in mostly light breezes. Continuing mostly dry overnight but more persistent rain will develop in the southwest towards morning. Some mist and fog will also develop. Lowest temperatures of two to six degrees.
Cloudy with rain in the southwest at first on Friday, extending northeastwards across the country with some heavy falls possible. A clearance to sunny spells and showers will then follow from the southwest. Highest temperatures of seven to 11 degrees.
Still a good deal of uncertainty for Christmas weekend but current indications suggest it will continue unsettled.
