Limerick women's business group reveals its president for 2023

THE LIMERICK branch of Network Ireland which supports the professional and personal development of women has elected its president for 2023.
Karen Brosnahan, the general manager of the Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau which exists to bring business events to the area has been placed in the role by members of the group.
A native of Limerick and a graduate of the Kemmy Business School at University of Limerick, Ms Brosnahan has an extensive background in business and sports tourism over a quarter-of-a-century.
Having worked in Failte Ireland’s office in New York, plus hotels in sales and marketing roles, she moved to the newly formed Shannon Region Conference and Sports Bureau in 2003, a role she’s now held for 20 years.
Ms Brosnahan was presented with the chain of office by outgoing president Emma Wilson, Keeper Solutions, while she has confirmed Fiona Doyle as her vice-president for 2023.
Speaking about her appointment, the businesswoman said: “It is a great honour for me to have been elected as president. I’m looking forward to continuing our efforts in supporting our members and providing opportunities for everyone to connect, learn and share ideas. After such a challenging few years, it’s important to stay connected or to reconnect. Now that we can meet again face to face, a network that supports, educates, and challenges you as a member is as important as ever.”
As president of Network Ireland Limerick, Ms Brosnahan will be responsible for fostering the aims and objectives of Network Ireland, representing the Limerick branch at National Executive meetings and overseeing the smooth running of events locally.
She’s picked Down Syndrome Limerick as the group’s charity partner for 2023, meaning some of its events throughout the year will have a fundraising element and all monies raised will see it benefit.
