I HAVE been in the fashion industry for more than 50 years, and I was so proud to talk about it on TV to share my experiences with you all.

I was a guest on Ireland AM on Virgin Media, and was overjoyed to feature on the show.

Presenters Martin King and Elaine Crowley were delightful to work with and are talented interviewers.

Speaking not only about my personal experience and history in the industry, we discussed how trends tend to reinvent themselves.

I spoke about ‘athleisure’, or athletic leisure, which has now found its own way to be more glamorous. The pandemic really started this trend, as it never seemed to exist before 2020 and now it finds its way into most fashion shows!

I also discussed with Elaine and Martin how, unfortunately, ageism still exists within the world of fashion.

I was asked on the show about the topic, and it was really interesting to discuss. It is wonderful to see older ladies come back into the spotlight and work the runway in places such as London Fashion Week. It makes me smile, as I too am from a different generation.

Ageing is a cause for celebration, and we should remember to accept the fact! We should endeavour to embrace this a little bit more in Ireland if we can.

People should be confident in their own skin and are capable of making their own decisions and owning it - do what makes you happy, even if that is some Botox, etc.

The whole beauty and fashion industry has become more inclusive in some ways, which is nice to see - why can’t we push it a little bit further, and take ageism out of the equation too?

I adore you all dearly, thank you for your continued support.

XxCelia
