A TRAVEL show with a twist is on the way, featuring one of Limerick’s very own.

Embarking on a mystery global tour, while speaking as Gaeilge the entire time, Limerick’s Louise Cantillon is taking on the new TG4 seven-part television series Téacs Taistil, or ‘travel texts’.

Described by Louise as “a very fun 50 minutes of escapism”, the popular radio DJ is joined by two other Gaeilgeoirs as they navigate their way through various tasks, sent via text message.

Louise is a radio presenter on national station Today FM and has an admirable following on social media.

“I was delighted to be asked to feature - after all, it is my dream job to travel abroad and get paid to do so!

“We went to seven different locations across Europe, only finding out the night before where we were going,” said Louise who is the fiancée of Limerick hurler Declan Hannon.

“The premise of the show is that there are three presenters, we spend three days in each location, and there are three tasks we have to complete before moving on.”

Séaghan Ó’Súilleabháin and Proinsias Ó’Coinn joined Louise, who said: “One of the most special parts of the experience was travelling while speaking our native language.”

Téacs Taistil begins on TG4 on Thursday, April 13 at 9:30pm.

It will run for a period of seven weeks. Series two is already in the pipeline.
