Limerick's show season kicks off this weekend
LIMERICK'S show season kicks off this weekend with Newcastle West Show on Sunday, July 16.
It dates back over a century with organisers continuing to put on a fun day out for all the family at the showgrounds in Shanagarry, on the outskirts of the town.
This year they have everything from Fanzini - Comedy Circus to Ger’s Pet Farm to a children’s toy tractor run, as well as bouncy castles and a kiddies disco to keep the little ones happy.
There will be a host of live music from local musicians and Newcastle West & District Pipe Band. Pet owners will be well catered for with a demonstration from Samantha Rawson Canine Expert, competitive and family dog show classes.
These are all on top of the best of cattle, horses, ponies, a big tractor and machinery display, farm skills demonstration by Macra members, and lots more. The show committee, chaired by Liam Ruttle, have pulled out all the stops to make Sunday one of the best ever.
Log on to the Newcastle West Show Facebook page for a full rundown on everything that is happening on the day. Entry for adults is €10, €5 students and seniors, and U12s go free.
