Widespread tributes Robin O’Donnell, who has sadly passed away

ANTIQUES dealer Robin O’Donnell has been remembered as “a total one-off”.

A “huge void has been left in the antiques’ world” following the passing of the Ballina man, who was well-known as the chief executive of Hibernian Antique Fairs.

An antique and fine art dealer for more than 30 years, Robin ran fairs across Ireland, with his flagship fair being The Irish National Antique and Art Fair, held bi-annually in Limerick’s South Court Hotel.

For a time, he lived in the Ennis Road on the city’s northside.

One contributor to www.rip.ie described Robin as a “unique, colourful, diverse, gentle person”.

"Robin had a unique way of welcoming attendees to his antique fairs - his engaging enthusiasm and warmth will always be remembered," added another, with a third writing: "You never saw Robin without a smile.”

Robin, who passed away last week, is forever loved and missed by his soulmate and best friend Lorraine, son David, daughters Jean, Robyn, stepdaughter Emma and his cherished grandchildren Fiadh and Éadha and son-in-law Mark.

He’s also remembered by a wide circle of friends, including all his wonderful loyal supporters of Hibernian Antique Fairs.
