Minister for Education approves construction of large extension for Limerick school

As part of this, four new mainstream classrooms and a soft play area will be constructed
THE Minister for Education Norma Foley has given approval for the construction of a large extension at Gaelscoil Sáirséal N.S. on Shelbourne Road in Limerick city.
The large extension consists of four new mainstream classrooms, two new classrooms to provide a special class for children with special education needs, two special education teaching rooms for one to one teaching or group work and a soft play area.
There are currently 258 pupils attending the school. Gaelscoil Sáirséal has been under the trusteeship of the Edmund Rice Schools’ Trust since July 1, 2015 and they moved to their new permanent home on the Shelbourne Road in August 2016.
Willie O'Dea TD said: "This is a very exciting development for all involved at Gaelscoil Sáirséal, as the new extension will provide a state of the art learning environment for many decades to come. Well done to Príomhoide Áine Ní Fhíobhra and all involved in getting the project to this stage."
