Mountcollins Pipe Band leads village's first St Patrick's Day parade in more than 20 years

FOR THE first time in 23 years, Mountcollins blood ran green as the community celebrated St Patrick’s Day with a lively procession through their village.

The fun kicked off at 12:30pm as St Patrick was led through the street by the Mountcollins pipe band.

Not far behind came his loyal band of followers who danced, sang and laughed their way

through their first parade since the millennium.

From tractors to quads, and vintage cars there was no shortage of motors through the street.

Local children donned their green while supporting their local sport clubs, and for many, delighting at their first parade ever.

Organised by Mountcollins Development Association, MC Johnny Walsh had everyone giggling with his running commentary as the floats passed by Tommy Mick's Pub on the main street.

Fun multiplied with each minute in Mountcollins, and the community agree they won't wait another two decades for many more parades in their village.
