Neonatal Unit at Limerick hospital receives a welcome boost from teen’s Christmas market

MURROE teenager Billy Moylan, beamed over the success of his first Christmas Market which took place last Sunday in his home village.
Featuring 20 stalls with all kinds of goodies, the local choir, and a meet and greet with Santa, the day was filled with festive fun.
The market raised €1500 for the Neonatal Unit at University Maternity Hospital Limerick where as a premature baby himself, Billy spent six weeks.
“I have to say that the market was a complete success”, started Billy. “The day turned out to be something more than I ever could have wished.”
He shared his pride in being able to give back to the unit which cared for him at his birth.
“In weeks to come I will hopefully present this money to the Neonatal unit in the University Maternity Hospital.”
The event took shape in the teen’s mind after his business studies class at St Mary’s Newport. After the pandemic, he felt that the market would bring about some community spirit for the festive season.
Billy added that he hopes to make this an annual event for all to enjoy year after year.
