New era dawns at Limerick rotary club as president targets lasting impact

Breda Deedigan begins her year leading Limerick-North Munster Rotary Club
IT’S the beginning of a new era at Limerick-North Munster Rotary Club as Breda Deedigan commenced her presidency with a special dinner.
The assistant governor of the rotary clubs in Ireland Ciara Irwin Foley was on hand to congratulate Ms Deedigan, the managing director of Deedigan HR Management.
She took over the role from Brian Hurley earlier this year.
It’s the second time Ms Deedigan has been president of the club, serving a term in 2007 when the club was known as Limerick-Thomond Rotary Club.
Long-time rotarian and auctioneer Pat Kearney, present at the dinner said: “It was a beautiful night enjoyed by all. There was lots of reminiscing about the old days of the rotary club. But we are progressing now and engaging with lots of new members.”
Special guest at the dinner was Fine Gael councillor Peter Doyle, chairman of the economic committee, who deputised for Mayor John Moran.

Upon her election, Ms Deedigan says her aim is to create a lasting impact.
"I want to do something that does that. That we have something in Limerick which says, this is as a result of rotary and groups working together,” she said. The club meets on the first and third Tuesday of the month in the Savoy Hotel – new members always welcome.
