New phase for Limerick business park as four sites sold

KILMALLOCK Business Park is starting a new chapter as three local Limerick businesses have bought development sites within the park.
Six sites in total were listed for sale by Limerick City and County Council at the park, with four of these now sold and another in the process of going sale agreed.
The business park is located on the south side of Glenfield Road with a number of businesses already located there.
The fully-serviced sites are ready to be developed with the new owners expressing their interest in starting building work as soon as possible.
All six sites were listed for sale in July and four of these have been sold in the last number of weeks.
The first site, which is 0.78 acres in size, has been sold to Zodiac Electrical, T/A Fitzgerald Electrical, Sarsfield Street, Kilmallock for the sum of €40,000.
There were four bids on the site with the opening bid of €30,000 being surpassed by the buyer.
Two other sites, which are one acre in size, were both sold for €40,000 each to IC Motor Factors and Tyres Ltd.
There were five bids on the two sites with the buyer intending to construct a warehouse and shopfront on the land.
A fourth site is 1.14 acres in size and was sold to Nigel Doherty for €40,000.
In a report to the local authority, a council official stated that Mr Doherty intends to use the site as a plant yard and office base for his existing business.
Councillors from the Cappamore/Kilmallock district signed off on the proposed sales of the sites, with a final decision to be made at a full council meeting in January.
Agreement has been reached in relation to the sale of a fifth site, however, this will not be signed off on by councillors until their December meeting.
