Now in its 17th year, the event creates space for remembrance and shared healing

THE NORTHSTAR Family Support Project will host its Annual Service of Commemoration and Hope at the Augustinian Church on O’Connell Street, Limerick.

The annual service will take place at 6pm on Thursday, October 9, with the event honouring the lives lost to addiction. It will offer a space for reflection, remembrance, and connection for families and communities affected by substance misuse.

Joe Slattery, Coordinator of Northstar Family Support Project said, “The Northstar Family Support Project will be hosting its Annual Service of Commemoration and Hope at the Augustinian Church, O’Connell Street, Limerick. We hope that past and present participants of our service, partner organisations, families and individuals who have lost loved ones to addiction will join us.”

First held in 2008, the Annual Service of Commemoration and Hope has grown to become the organisation’s flagship event. It offers families and communities a supportive environment to come together in solidarity.

The service is open to all, regardless of background or connection to the organisation.
