Oscar-nominated cinematographer to judge new Limerick short film scheme

AN OSCAR-nominated cinematographer will be among the judges for a prestigious short film scheme in Limerick.
Kate McCullough, the cinematographer on the Oscar-nominated film An Cailín Ciúin, will be one of the three judges to select six projects as part of the Engine Short Film Scheme.
Kate is a two-time IFTA-winning cinematographer, and is also known for her work on hit TV series Normal People.
Run by Innovate Limerick through Film in Limerick, the new Engine Shorts scheme aims to inspire and support up-and-coming writers, directors and producers to create inspiring world-class short films that resonate with a wide international audience.
The judges for the second edition of the scheme also include Fionnuala Halligan, Screen's International Director and Grainne Humphreys, Director of the Dublin International Film Festival.
The scheme is in collaboration with the local authorities in Tipperary, Limerick and Clare, as well as with Limerick and Clare Education and Training Board.
Paul C Ryan, Regional Film manager at Film in Limerick said: “The 12 shortlisted teams have been working hard over the past few months developing and preparing their projects. We can’t wait to hear their ideas pitched to the panel in-person and to announce the winning teams who will each receive €12,500 each to produce a short film in the region.”
