GARDAI are investigating after parcels were stolen from outside a home in Limerick.

A man in his mid-forties who lives in Castleconnell had some items delivered on Friday, July 7.

He was not at home to take them in but his CCTV shows a male walking up his driveway and taking the parcel.

Gardai are investigating the incident.

Sergeant Ber Leetch, Crime Prevention Officer Henry Street Garda Station gave advice on how people can avoid these types of thefts.

"Criminals watch out for the chance to steal and the perfect opportunity is when a parcel is delivered and left outside a house.

"Gardai are investigating but it is better to either be home for your delivery or ask a neighbour to take the parcel.

"Parcels lying in doorways attract the eye of a criminal; it suggests that the home is unoccupied and could make your home a target for burglary".
