THE local community turned out in force for the annual Croom Summer Bingo Bash in the Croom Sports Hall.
Organised by the Croom Community Development Association, the event is the group's way of saying thank you to the many loyal bingo-goers who support the weekly games throughout the year.
And what a night it was, with the hall packed and the atmosphere full of cheer.
Patricia Ryan, CEO of Croom Community Development, was full of praise for those who came along.
“It was really lovely to be able to give back to our regular bingo-goers who support us every week. Tonight was just fantastic,” she said.
Alongside the usual excitement of the bingo rounds, there were extra spot prizes handed out on the night – from boxes of chocolates to bottles of perfume and plenty more in between – adding an extra layer of fun and surprise for players.
One of the highlights of the evening was the refreshments – non-alcoholic mocktails were served up with great success. The Mango Martini and Strawberry Margarita were both crowd favourites, offering a summery twist to the night’s festivities.
Players were also treated to double prize money on all line wins, which brought plenty of cheers from delighted winners. While the sought-after weekly jackpot went unclaimed, it continues to roll over to next week.
Local bingo regular Kay O’Donovan summed up the atmosphere of the night.
“It’s not just about the prizes – it’s the sense of community here that keeps us coming back.”
Bingo takes place every Tuesday evening at the Croom Sports Hall.
Doors open at 7pm, with eyes down at 8pm sharp. Over 18s only.
