THE MASTERMINDS behind a table quiz in Boher hope that it will help a community and sensory garden bloom. Over €1,100 was raised from Boher Community Development Association (BCDA) annual quiz night in Pa McGrath’s. Mary Finucane, of BCDA, explained that the community centre was enhanced by the addition of flowers last spring. “They were planted by a number of local volunteers. Following very positive feedback, the enthusiastic group set their sights on a more ambitious project - creation of a community garden on the grounds of our community centre. “Terrific work took place over the summer and the project is well underway. The garden proved to be a great social hub with lots of newcomers to the community becoming involved,” said Mary. The community garden team is embracing sustainability and approaching all tasks in the most environmentally-friendly way possible,” said Mary, who on behalf of the BCDA thanked everyone who took part in the table quiz.
