AS soon as Storm Emma and the Beast from the East arrived in Limerick painting a picture perfect snow white landscape thoughts immediately turned to making the perfect snowman.

But forget about the simple roundy character from the ‘80s with a carrot for a nose, coal for eyes and an old scarf around the neck, it’s 2018 and people are getting creative!

There’s online video tutorials on how to build the perfect snowman, and food dye has been introduced to add some colour. And it’s no longer just snowmen we’re building - it’s snow sculptures, if you don’t mind..!

Here in the Leader, we have been inundated with photos of happy families who spent last Friday out in the fresh air building everything from igloos and upside down snowmen to their favourite cartoon characters.

One snowman out in Elton reached a jawdropping18ft in height! We couldn’t let your creativity go unnoticed so we’ve decided to compile the best creations we spotted over the weekend and are allowing you to choose your favourite so we can find #LimericksBestSnowman.

Voting closes at 5pm this Wednesday, March 7.
